seeds!

My replacement broken parts finally came for my grow light. I planted all my seeds tonight. Here's hoping for a good outcome.

I put soil in there instead of grow pods because I've never heard of grow pods before...not sure it's going to work, we'll see

shenanigans at the office

I really like my new office environment, if for no other reason than everyone who works there is hilarious. The people are always making fun of each other.

Yesterday a new guy showed up and all the other guys farted on his chair before he could sit down in it. Then they spent the rest of the day asking the new guy if he was aware of any "unidentified farting objects" in the office.

Today a guy came in late because he said he had an emergency doctor's appointment. Everyone knew he was hung over so as he walked through the cube farm and stopped to talk to people the first thing they would ask him, loudly, is "SO WAS IT A YEAST INFECTION?"

Though, I am going to get some noise cancellation headphones. Sometimes the rowdiness is too much for me. I'm used to working in my little office with only noise from the treadmill. And I miss being able to walk while I work. But I'll figure something out.

green mountain lion

Sunday I went hiking with the amazons. We went to green mountain since it's supposed to be a nice hike for dogs. Edge is afraid of mountain lions and bears. He grew up in Brazil and they don't have that kind of wild life (though Jess pointed out they have even scarier critters there).

I assured him there was no chance we'd see one. The trail was either muddy or snowy. By the time we got to the top we were all splattered with mud and our shoes looked like they had been plastered with concrete (except Edge's shoes, which were proper hiking shoes - the rest of us wore running shoes).

I was also wearing my new Voormi Hi-E hoody, which is awesome.

When we got to the summit, Edge took a panoramic picture. I was standing by the east side of the mountain and I swore I heard a mountain lion. No one else heard it. Then I got worried because I didn't want everyone to think I was fucking with Edge.

But as we headed back down the trail...there were tons of mountain lion prints. And they were very fresh. You could even see, in the prints in the snow, where the mountain lion's tail was dragging behind it.

I'll post better pics tomorrow...I'm guessing it was a pretty big mountain lion, I will post a pic with Edge's shoe next to the print for scale
We hurried down the mountain, Edge with two rocks and Ericka with her bear spray. I wonder what the people coming the other way thought we were doing. We did warn everyone we saw about the tracks. I would also note that we saw deer tracks near the mountain lion tracks. I wonder if it ate the deer.

And I wonder if they will ever hike with me again. Kidding, we have plans to go next weekend.
